ISLAM : The fastest growing religion in the world

Islam is growing faster than any other religion, it will overtake Christianity by 2070, according to one projection by Pew research center.In year 2010, Indonesia had the largest Muslim population in the world, but India's will be larger by the year 2050 (India will still be Hindu-majority nation though).In the United States, 1 in every 50 people will be a Muslim by year 2050.

Studies in the 21st century suggest that, in terms of percentage and worldwide spread, Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. In the year 2010, Christianity was by far the world's largest religion with an estimated 2.2 billion followers, which was nearly a third of the world's population. Also in 2010, Islam holds the second place with an estimated 1.6 billion followers.

Now when we look at the projections by the year 2050, the number of Muslims will be nearly equal to number of Christians all around the world. Also in Europe, Muslims will make up the 10% of the overall population.

Also, by the year 2050, the Muslims are expected to make up more than 50% of population in 51 countries around the world. So, based on all these projections reported, Islam would be largest religion in the world.
